What is Smart Form Versioning?
Smart Forms versioning enables easy editing and updating without the risk of negative implications on previously collected data.
Essentially, any changes made to a Smart Form that has previously been assigned to cases will only be distributed to future cases. The relationship between existing cases and previous versions of a Smart Form are maintained to ensure data integrity. An important caveat is that an existing case’s Smart Form version will also be updated if the patient has not yet viewed the form. This detail allows patients to receive the most up-to-date version of a Smart Form as often as possible.
Smart Form versions are generated each time that a Smart Form is published. The “Publish” button will only be active when changes have been made to a Smart Form in the builder. After clicking “Publish”, you will be shown the number of cases and protocols that will be updated to the newest version of the form.
In order to publish a new Smart Form version, we require that a summary of the changes be entered for auditing purposes.
